Sweet Call Guy

I thought that I’d follow up Guy Adami’s sweet gold call on Thursday with Friday’s gold chart.

Buying is never easy

17 09 2008

This chart represents the best buy of my life.

I talked about buying gold the other day and gave some of the reasons why I was doing it.  Using some of the courage I gained from Tom O’Brien’s newsletter, I bought a sizable position in DGP, the double gold ETN,  and Aurizon Mines Ltd. (AZK) .  Today was largest single day gain my account has ever seen, which is nuts considering the market right now.

I also bought AngloGold Ashanti (AU) early in the day today.  Gold is going much, much higher!

I didn’t buy RIO as it came down too hard.  Keep this one on your watchlist, however.

Possible Sequential/Combo Play

16 09 2008

Here is a free one.  Be careful and respect those stops but here is a possible long trade.  RIO has been killed recently and is setup for a bounce.  Here are the Combo and Sequential charts.

Anglogold Ashanti also finished up a Combo countdown.

Another scary quote

15 09 2008

Here is my thesis right now.  The government is on the hook, they are going to have to print money like it is going out of style (which it is) and the gains in the dollar are going to evaporate in the near future.  I don’t have the stomach to short these crazy markets so I’m going to play the gold equities.  In order to help me with my trades I subscribed to the best gold newsletter out there, The Gold Report, by Tom O’Brien

After receiving the first issue today, I was shocked by the market overview section and the following quote.

“Folks, it’s time to wake up, our government has taken us down the tubes, they are doing everything possible to keep the citizens in the dark. This down market in the S&P 500 has only just begun, this leg down won’t be pretty”.

Tom usually isn’t this grim, which in turn got me really worried.

Quelle Suprise!

So I’m in Montreal for business and I’m sitting in the hotel bar and guess what the entire bar is in town for?  They are all geologists and venture capital guys trying to raise money for precious metal exploration and mine development.  I mean, come on, how cliche is that?

I felt like I was in San Francisco or San Jose in 2000.
